No Place Like HomeA Poem by SvennyNot a part of the Icelandic trilogy, but I've become quite homesick recently, so I wrote this to stave it off for a while.
Mountains, on the skyline, peak
waves lap upon the shore we bounce along this dirt road our engine purrs and roars Rocks, rivers, trees and grass paint a breathtaking scene yet, despite all this beauty, it doesn't change a thing Your face, I see in every cloud and on the wind, I hear, your voice so loud "There's no place like home," the gravel 'neath our tires groan, "All these things you see will never quite be Home." © 2011 Svenny |
