This poem is not meant in any religious way at all (just in case anyone was wondering) but more about light finding a way when we don't think it's possible. The picture was taken in a cathedral near where I live - I just loved the the contrast of the light and dark.

My dear Suzy, I must confess that I read this some eight times (upon different log ins over the last three months or so) The very title is empowering (and in the ‘light’ of my ordeal, it does give me solace and hope. But it’s not just the title that works for me; I love it in toto. One word, especially for the title and the last line: wow!

It was the photo I took that inspired it (taken in a local cathedral) I wanted to write something that could be taken as spiritually enlightening regardless of what the readers beliefs are - something for everyone.
It was so popular on my SoundCloud page I decided to make a video for You Tube using creative commons film footage - maybe you'd like this too? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFenHnkhR5o

I love this. I remember listening to it. This gives me so much hope in light. Darkness can only fill so much, but even then, light can be seen and show the way.

So true! Something always seems to show up in the fullness of time. I'm living proof of that right now. Well captured, Suzy!

Something always does show up, and often I find the worst times, don't seem so bad looking back. But maybe memory softens the harshness? Haha.. you are light itself Roland!!! :oD
Funny thing is about this picture, my brother and I visited a sunken garden a few weeks back, now turned into a private park - it was so lovely, got some good pictures there too. We only went to the Roman Catholic Cathedral (next door) for a pee, cup of tea...and cake (they have nice toilets and a great café!) ended up taking even more pictures there, even though I'm not keen on religious buildings, can't help admiring the artistic side and all the hard work some poor guys put their strength into a long time ago. It was a good trip, and the tea in the Cathedral was awesomely refreshing! :o)
ahh ! but the light is religion, god is light and he will show you the way..

I'm not sure about religion as such, but I'm willing to believe there is a higher power behind some things in life, or maybe we have the answers in us all along, one way or another, the light will find us, or we find it. The way is often a little hidden, or we're so blind we can't see it. I think we are a bit like moths, addicted to light! :o)
The answer always finds us, even when we gave up believing it would. A simple moment of clarity, within the fog of confusion, is enough to solve problems we thought insurmountable. Very nice feel to this. Wonderfully captured in so few words. Thank you for sharing with us.

True. There is always a way out. sometime people are too busy to figure it out when the way only requires you to look. Nice poem, I few words but powerful
