God

God

A Poem by Mariana Silva
"

A poem of faith though it is fictional

"

Kneeling, he dared not question what he was told of faith;

Why would the messenger of God, lie?

Where he would have fallen to temptation,

He embraced the Virgin Mary, and prayed.

Unfortunately, in concern to love, it was too great to sate.

He would rather relinquish his beliefs, than never know love before it was his time to die.

When it turned out to be lust, he sought redemption.

He begged out Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, then prayed.

When God dealt him a terminal disease,

He grew angered and hostile.

No where could he find the whys.

So, he sought out Archangel Rafael, and prayed.

The more faith he developed, the more he accepted his disease.

Not once did he look upon life as cruel and dull.

He accepted that everyone lives…and dies.

He welcomed God as death, and no longer needed to pray.
