NATIONALISM

The only pro-war poem I ever hope to write...I am very anti-war.

Naturally, I want to defend my country

And, what better way than fighting?

Taking lives and fighting lies

I don't want to abandon my country

Or allow it to fall prey

No worst crime than being cowardly

At least in the eyes of my country

Let me go and sign up!

I am going to be a soldier

Send me to war and watch me shine!

My choice is to die for my country

 

Nationalism, who needs any other reason?

Since you said in the description that you are anti-war, I think you could make this very sarcastic, which is a tone I already feel when reading it. Great idea, and keep writing.
