A Poem by Mariana Silva
"

My 5th grade teacher passed away on the given date and after a great deal of grieving I wrote what came to mind when I thought of him...

"

There are words stuck in my throat,

With them there, it gets hard to breathe.

So many forgotten apologies,

Are buiding up in the pit of my heart,

So I've been told to write you a note.

What happened Monday...its hard to believe.

The tears blinding me, are all my damned apologies.

I'm hoping your death isn't a start

To an ongoing stream of deaths

For me to mourn.

Johnny Ray Lozano...

No less than a soldier and no more than human.

PLease, don't be the start of a stream of deaths.

PLease, I hope you didn't die alone,

Its the worst thing I dear, as I mourn

The passing of an extraordinary man.
