Save me

Save me

A Poem by Mariana Silva
"

Look beyond yourself, and look onto the suffering your self-pity inflicts

"

"Save me!"

Everyone is crying out,

Too blind to each other's crues.

Why can't the world see

That help is all about?

They're blinded by lies

Lies they've told themselves,

Lies they've told their friends,

And lies they've told their hearts

Not knowing they could've saved themselves

And tied all of the loose ends.

In a world full of false starts,

Peple want to rely on someone else.

They want someone else to have control,

Control over their very lives.

So immersed in their personal hells,

Fearing not the toll

of such actions, if not control of their lives.
