ObsessionA Poem by Suzanne DeakinsLove is addictiveI woke this morning wanting you Obsessed with wanting you tied to my heart How am I to be free of you You came into my life but did not tell me the price I would pay obsessed by my needing of you Each time my mind whispers your name my soul smolders in its wanting of you my heart pounds uncontrolled when the thought of you comes to me The hands that would write of my addiction are on fire unable to hold my pen the paper scorched from the heat You did not tell me our first kiss would addict me to you… like a poison your kiss infected my very being Standing in the hot shower waiting for the water to wash your bond away take this obsession from me Free me from this poison take it from me let me breath again let me know life without you This love has left me twisted and tied to you in human bondage, alone and joined addicted unable to let go pulled deeper each day into you Obsessed by my love for you what good would I be without you withering and dying needing the very poison that keeps me Obsessed by your love Held in human bondage For all time Don’t take your poison from me Take my smoldering soul Twist my heart Let my fingers burn in their wanting to touch you Do not take your love from me let me have my obsession let the poison remain bind me to you for an eternity © 2008 by Suzanne Deakins from Double Chocolate, A Book of Exotic Love © 2008 Suzanne DeakinsReviews
