I Don't do Haiku

I Don't do Haiku

A Poem by Vishuddha
"

Haiku works for you. But, I'm not oriental. I don't do haiku.

"
SEA SHORE ( 7 verses - 7 5 7 5 )

wind blown sands sting ankles bare
sand dune butterflies
wind blown sands sting ankles bare
walk down to the tides

waves of music sing to me
morning's early breeze
waves of music sing to me
salt aroma seas

rippled sunlight over sand
heron by the boats
rippled sunlight over sand
wet white feather floats

blue sky pooled beside my feet
bright fishes ramble
blue sky pooled beside my feet
hermit crabs scramble

pink and gray with seaweed green
pearls from coral caves
pink and gray with seaweed green
rolling in the waves

sandpipers impatiently
feel the high tide's flash
sandpipers impatiently
wait for low tide's splash

walk along the sandspur beach
seagulls have a wish
walk along the sandspur beach
they know how to fish

SPRING ( 6 verses - 5 7 7 5 )

dew drops in the grass
azalea's alabaster
azalea's alabaster
overflowing light

flash in the morning
ruby throated hummingbirds
ruby throated hummingbirds
can't believe my eyes

innocent green eyes
unacquainted with evil
unacquainted with evil
full of flowered smiles

I thought God touched me
a rainbow on my shoulder
a rainbow on my shoulder
overflowing lights

lizards hide and seek
green and sensuous embrace
green and sensuous embrace
hold me for an hour

footprints of ravens
hieroglyphics in the mud
hieroglyphics in the mud
tell of far off lands

DOUBLE HAIKU just for YOU ( 5 verses - 5 7 7 5 )

waiting for the rain
twilight fading into night
twilight fading into night
lightning in the clouds

calling cicadas
longing for your sweet embrace
longing for your sweet embrace
kiss me in the dark

chaos in storm clouds
a tornado in our bed
a tornado in our bed
rain drops on the roof

wild Cuban lover
turns me into an earthquake
turns me into an earthquake
leaves me trembling

heart throb, out of breath
souls together, never left
souls together, never left
love you beyond death

HAIKU with an ECHO ( 4 verses 5 7 7 5 )

sun breaks through the clouds
rain drop sparkles everywhere
rain drop sparkles everywhere
blue sky in my hair

sun dappled leaf litter
shadows hide a magic thing
shadows hide a magic thing
toad stool fairy ring

goats dance this morning
black eyed daisies in the breeze
black eyed daisies in the breeze
cardinals in the trees

dandelion stars
silver wind-streams fill the sky
silver wind-streams fill the sky
I would learn to fly

REAL KULTRYU ( 3 verses 5 7 5 )

brass nuckles, switch blade
join a gang and you should know
blood flows in the shade

heart split, in blood wade
its your fate to this way go
need not be dismayed

heart beat, shallow, fade
end approaches very slow
death will not be swayed

Author's Note

Vishuddha
I am gentle, sentimental, sometimes I am even mental, but, I'm really occidental, so, again, I say to you, although I really might like to, I don't do haiku.

But you do this very well. I also do haiku, and even senyru...but in very samll doses.

Michael G. does haiku, and does it nicely.

These are absolutely wonderful. Much to read and reread here. Thank you for the privilege.
I dabble in form, though I don't call it haiku, some see them as such.
