With YouA Poem by Vishuddha
Although this world is less than perfect,
I am ready to live. I am ready to live, To live, To live to a ripe old age, As long as you let me live it with you. The trail that we are following, Is changing its shape, Changing its shape, And, I am followed by cloud of eyes, The jade waves and an ibis. The eyes are following, Following me, And, I don't think I can stop them, Because I think the eyes are my own, The waves are my passions, The ibis my throne, And, this is the dream of the sum of my soul. My dreams show me things that I don't want to see, They tell me I'm someone I don't want to be, And, they tell me the dead are not lonely, Well, we too will never be lonely, For we will become as the fishermen. Let's sing fishmongers songs in the morning, Make fisherfolk love at night, Let's stand in the wet, Mend the fishermen's net, And, let's never forget, Oh, let's never forget, Let's never, Oh, never, No, never, Forget. One another. [June 11, 1999] © 2015 VishuddhaReviews
