SHE DOESN'T SEE ME

SHE DOESN'T SEE ME

A Poem by Roger Turgeon
"

From a need to be seen and understood

"

SHE DOESN'T SEE ME

Yes, I am seeing a woman, but she does not see me

Oh, she takes my hand and looks into my eyes

But that is only to steady herself or look at her own reflection

While I spend my time making her life easier

With small thoughtful gestures, gone mostly unnoticed

She seems to focus on all the things not right in her life

I was asked once "What do you get out of the relationship?"

I replied that I would be lonely without her

But it made me wonder, am I lonely with her as well?

Yes, I am seeing a woman, but she doesn't see me

If she did, her eyes would be filled with tears

I have thought about this, with poeple in general, a lot lately. It seems more and more people get caught up in their own existence and look at way if serving themselves above and beyond anything else. I have conversations with people and within three seconds I can see they are already thinking of something else- so I don't bother.

I feel there is true requited love out there still, you just gotta choose the right gal, and if you are not prepared to do that then you must ask yourself what are the lessons you are supposed to learn along the way here :)

sure - how about - after the final exhale ? Mucho appreciated :D
I think there could be no better way to have expressed tho Hidden Hollow heart this man is carrying.
The emptiness of this heart going thru the emotions of unseen, unheard needs always seem more traumatic then if one was totally alone.
Somehow though this is another chapter to a book of life that even I myself am looking at right now.
For me I know the answer lies within myself.
It doesn't matter who or what the circumstances are.. It seems all loneliness and sorrow and the Joy and happiness all leads us back home to our own heart.
No one can make us happy or console a heart that is broken.
We have to do that journey our-self.
Our own happiness Or Sorrow depends on what we choose to own and choose to see.

Thank you so much for writing this wonderful reflection so vividly.
It makes for a wonderful look inside to see "How to do" Or :how to do not"

Ahh, the power of wanting someone around if only to merely satisfy the loneliness. This happens everyday around the world. It's unfortunate when one can't/won't see that happiness is a state of mind and doesn't require another person to obtain. Good job. I enjoy your work.

lol, thx. ;)
Sometimes, in a relationship, things really grow apart... you captured that emotion, and state very well. Happiness is just an elusive thing, that should be known by each and every individual within his/her own core ... and not can be filled in by another, if that's clear first, it can only become happier together. Another thought provoking piece sir. Very good.

Sounds like she is using you as a crutch in life.

No a good relationship to be in and to continue and that is what you conveyed with this poem very well!

Exaggeration is the mother of poetry
Very melancholic write, written profoundly graceful. Sometimes
One seeks the desperation of being in a relationship, etc out of
Fear of loneliness instead of being with someone they actually
Like/love... who fulfills their
Heart's desire and vice versa. Yet nothing feels more lonely than
Being in any kind of relationship, yet you're basically in it "alone"

Excellent meter and rhyming scheme. Thank you for sharing :)

Exactly...I agree! :)
This is a good capture of an assessment in a relationship. Word choices question and express that search for the meaning this thing we have here..... People come together and they give and take and they move forward, next to each other is good too :) But I think we are taking stock of where we are going in most of what we do..... Should we have report cards? haha......

A moment of stepping back indeed
This is a very touching write. What I found in life was that love usually never flows both ways. Either we love someone or someone loves us. It is only once when stars really collide and the love is mutual. This combination is earth shattering. You conveyed the sadness so well, it was so palpable, I could touch it.

Ouch, this one smarts...sad state of affairs, when we're not seen or heard by the person we admire most. We all deserve to be seen by our significant other. Run Roger Run. ;)
