THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

do we really see who we are when we look in the mirror?

Through Different Eyes

 

I see in the mirror

The only self I’ve known

My mind’s bias reflection

Since before I was grown

 

But I wonder aloud

And I wonder anew

Would I look different

Through eyes green, brown or blue

 

Do other’s eyes reveal

The me I can not see

Can I find me in yours

If I look carefully

 

What will I discover

Will it match my mind’s eye

Or reveal unto me

What I know is a lie

 

So gaze upon me now

Let me glimpse what I seek

Show me how I am seen

I only need a peek

Our perception of ourself can be very off... sometimes we can only truly see ourself in another's eyes. I liked the concept of this piece. It resonates within me today. Lovely write.

Those with brown eyes are known to be very grounded, and are not swayed by materialistic desires or tendencies. They are close to nature, and seem to perform best when working in accordance with it. Yet, they are independent and strong.

BLUE - Energy of the sky and sun: Direct, conscious thought

The color blue has often been associated with clairvoyant abilities, and the capacity to see visions of the past and the future. Those with blue eyes are assertive and direct, are full of life, and have a keen sense of observation.

See this is what I want to know... I think when we look in the mirror we see who we want to see, or who we hope to see. No one will admit to another that they believe them self to be beautiful, everyone will deny it but yet, how many people take photos of themselves and post them all over? Tons, millions even.

I really liked the concept and where you took this one, however. A really good job, my friend.
