ATTRACTIONA Poem by Roger TurgeonThe power of attraction draws us to the flame. More often than not..... we get burned.ATTRACTION Attracted to
their aura, a moth to their flame Burned and
left smoldering, in unacknowledged blame Moved by
unseen fingers, just a pawn in their game Each
position no closer, the view stayed the same Drawn to the
patient spiders, unseen webs entrap The back
door was revealed, at the sound of a flap How fleeting
the dull applause, how faint the lone clap Can they
truly be believed, how wide was that gap Tempting
songs sang the sirens, an invite in tune A soulmate
attracted, to the call of the loon But hopes faded
quickly, as the path of the moon As dawn sheds
its light, on another lost rune Poured out
all emotions, to the voiceless pale mimes Rated them
at each visit, and rated them dimes Embraced
with empty arms, yet alone many times Wasted were
the poems, and wasted were the rhymes © 2014 Roger TurgeonReviews
