RAVEN'S EYEA Poem by Roger TurgeonA study in depressionRaven’s Eye I can view the darkness fall My raven’s eye sees it all Piercing through the nighttime soon My raven’s eye is the watchful moon The blackness holds me close at last As it has in nights gone past Embracing me in the dusky shadows It comforts me…as no one knows The moon bears witness to night’s embrace Displays it clearly upon its face It doesn’t judge, no words are spoken Its presence here is just a token Where will night guide me, I’m uncertain Blinded by this murky curtain Where reality is cloaked in shrouds There’s no need to please the crowds Into the darkness I cast my fate Where I wander alone and wait Endless voids of nothing greet me Carrying empty signs that I can’t see There is no start, there is no finish There is no pain I must diminish Free at last to laugh or cry Under my raven’s eye © 2014 Roger TurgeonReviews
