Open Doors

Open Doors

A Poem by Susie
"

Another song... hehe. ; P

"

With you three days, and already forgot how to open doors

Feel your eyes like the sun on my bare shoulders

I mention my boyfriend mid sentence, then wonder why I felt the need

You ask me if it's serious and I think, "Unfortunately"

But, hell that was a year ago now

And should be ancient history

Except that he abused me and I got out

Except that we still have the chemistry

I just feel that much was left unsaid

I just feel there's catching up to do

I could write a novel: What's Happened Since Then

Meet me in the city at two

Sometimes my past still makes an appearance in my dreams

Smashes windows, breaks what's left of my things

But this time help doesn't arrive in time or my phone is out of reach
He forces fear into my mouth, forbidden to scream or breathe

But, hell, that was a year ago now

And I have moved three hundred miles away

Out of the blue you message

"How are you getting on these days?"

I just feel that much was left unsaid

I just feel there's catching up to do

I could write a novel: What's Happened Since Then

Meet me in the city at two

I don't know if you're still into me
I don't think it matters anymore
Just wanna hear your life is fine and well
And boast that I'm better than before
I don't know if I've moved on or forward
I don't think I'm ready for much more
Than open-ended coffee dates
And open doors

I just feel that much was left unsaid
I just feel there's catching up to do
I just feel that much was left unsaid
I just feel there's catching up to do
I could write a novel: What's Happened Since Then
Meet me in the city at two

wow.. your third stanza that have been repeated emphasized that idea...I do believe that every 2 lovers who breakup leave lots of unsaid things, since if they heard each other until the end they would never leave..(that is my own idea) ..
i liked this one so much ..well done

What a lovely thought. Thanks again for sharing.
Very interesting, and I think I understand where you're coming from too. Poetry is a creative and valuable outlet for thoughts and memories, and you've proven that.
