Lightly sleeping,
I feel you turn towards me,
The bed shifting,
The dogs once again settling at the foot of the
bed.
Your body, warm with dreams reaches out for me,
Your arms, strong with love,
Slide under mine to bring to me to you.
As I ease my body to fit
In that perfect resting place of your own,
Reaching back, I lay my palm against your
cheek,
And feel the muscles of your face gently smile
As your arms tighten...
You care not that my body is not perfect,
You love me for the beauty of my soul.
And as you lie sleeping, I am awake..
Feeling your heart beat, the familiarity of
your love.
I cannot glide back into my dreams as yet,
Not until I thank God for such a gift.
