As It Should Be

As It Should Be

A Poem by Loewe

A kiss upon her lips
As I fall into those eyes with a center of coal
Keeping me so warm as they burn down my soul
I'm watching myself turn to ash in her arms

Rising from myself
Becoming the man I should be
A promise to love her eternally burns on my wing tips
A phoenix is what she has made of me

Just as it should be
That my rebirth was at her heart
The old man has passed away
A baptism in firelight
Set ablaze by her eyes
