2.A Chapter by RayleneI flew down from the tower landing on my feet. The snow felt nice, dragons do not get cold unless you manage to somehow freeze something that makes fire.I began walking home, I heard the familiar sound of small boots running on the ground. “Aine!” Smiling I turned around to see my see my sister Winifred; she was only five yet was so tall for her age. Winifred was the youngest of my family, well sort of since she was a twin. “Mama, told me to come fetch you.” I groaned, I continued walking though my sister grabbed my hand making slow my pace. “Aine?” “Hmm?” I picked her up as a man with his cart was moving toward us. “Do you think the humans will have children my age?” Snickering I answered “Yes.” I pulled her coat tight as she forgets we got to blend in with humans. “You know mama , will be mad you went to the tower.” I grunted in response “Will you braid my hair before we leave?” I nodded “You should be happy.” I darted my eyes at her, yet I sighed my siblings were one of the few people I could not be angry towards. I looked at Winifred she had black hair that curled around her oval face, her eyes shined like emeralds, and she like many of us had birthmarks symbolical our power. Winifred's mark somewhat looked like an arrow it was on her wrist I hoped that meant she was fast and not a hunter.
We got to the house and I saw that my mother was waiting for us. I tried to walk by her, yet Winifred was wiggling ever where in my arms as we saw a boy with red hair pop his head out behind our mom. “Where have you two, been?” Winifred smiled as she dropped down “I had to go find Aine, Arthur!” Winifred left me with our mother in silence. My mother tucked back her black hair as she approached me “Where are your shoes?” I laughed “I haven’t the slightest idea.” “Aine..” “Mama.. Why do we have to move?” My mother grabbed my cheek “Aine my dear, you know your father is apart of the council. Your father saw it as his duty to help out our people and the land of the Faye.” I sighed as she hugged me “Though thank you for helping with Winifred.” I nodded as we went back in, my older brother Thomas was talking to our father . “Aine.” I smiled weakly as our father looked up at me with his emerald green eyes and fire red hair. “Aine, are you ready to go?” I shrugged as I went into the kitchedn
“You need to wear more clothing dear.” I looked over at my mother “It is not cold though.” My mother came to me with a large coat and shaw to wear over my purple cotton dress/ “Thank you.” Mom smiled “You must remember we have to blend in my dear.” I nodded as I put it on and mother came into the kitchen. “Okay so what are we making for supper?” Father waved his hand My mother spoke softly “You have to eat dear.” I spoke up “Rabbit stew sounds nice.” Mother smiled and began to cook the rabbit that we have had since last night. I sat in a chair watching my family and knew I would do anything to protect them against the humans. © 2016 RayleneReviews
