A Chapter by Raylene

I woke up and the sun was barley above the horizon. Charlie was shaking my leg, I looked at her groaning.
     "Come on kid".
I opened one eye looking at her. Charlie was wearing a blank tank top and black pants ; she tossed me some as I laid them on me.
"Come on or I'm lifting up the mattress and tossing you out."
I sat up , and looked at the black tank top and black pants. I tried them on the pants were baggy, yet they looked great on me. I saw two slits for my wings in my tank top, and with them was a jacket that was colored dark red I tried it on and it fit like a glove.
I went into the living room and Charlie handed me a small chocolate chip muffin.
"You will need your strength there is something I want to show you."
I ate the muffin as Charlie walked in front of me.
"Have you ever been outside of the Garden Fairy section?"
I shook my head finishing my muffin; since Garden and Water Fairies were so important to The Realm the got their own section away from the rest of The Realm.
"I figured, I want you to meet some of the more unique creature."
we were walking to the very edge of The Real, I looked around and saw a very cute house it was made of cedar and pine tree.
 "Where are we ?"
Charlie smiled at me "We are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Acorus"
Charlie knocked as I looked around, we were at the edge of where The Realm Fairies lived and I had no clue what this place was. We even had exited the gate to The Realm Fairy housing, and then there was two odd doors;  and I saw rows of houses, markets, and stores.
The door opened with a creek and a small woman with chestnut brown hair.
"Charlotte! come in come in, oh you got an apprentice with you, she must be Juniper I saw her name appear to me."
The small woman was wearing a plaid green and white shirt and blue jeans. She had her hair was short and curly like mine, she wore some bronze glasses.

I sat at a small oak table with in a cozy kitchen, it all seemed normal till stuff started flying around.
Mrs. Acorus was making some pancakes and talking to Charlie as the ingredients,  helped themselves into the bowl.
Mrs. Acorus smiled at me "Would you like some Juniper?"
I nodded "Yes Mrs. Acorcus."  she looked at me and Charlie sat down
" Umm Just call me Margo."
I looked at her oddly and Charlie spoke
" This is my dearest friend Margret but call her Margo; she lives her with her husband Atticus and most important her three foster children Marcus, Sage, and Iris"

I looked around, and heard footsteps. A man came into the kitchen he was handsome he had a messy bed head mop of black and grey hair, he  wore a mid sleeve grey sweater and jeans, he kissed Margo on the cheek.
 "Ah hello I am Atticus."
he sat next to me opening the news paper, then came down two girls one about fifteen  was pale with dark brown hair in a long French braid.  She wore a purple tank top and jeans with a pink and black plaid over-shirt tied around her waist; Margo looked at her
" I hope you plan to get dressed, sometime soon Sage."
Sage grabbed a thing of orange juice and sat at the table next to Charlie I realized; that Margo had dark green eyes and Atticus had sky blue, while Sage had dark blue with hazel.

I remembered that she was a foster child, as the other had short light black hair she seemed like a ten year old. I realized this must be Iris, she wore a long sleeve tie dye  shirt and blue jeans.
Iris had beautiful spring green eyes and her hair was cut in a cut pixie mid length mop. Iris sat next to Atticus while the boy Marcus came in, he was tan with short brown hair that was spikey dark chocolate brown. He seemed about fourteen, he  wore a black t-shirt and jeans he sat next to Margo once she sat down and everything quit flying around the room,

Charlie snickered "Have you figured out why I brought you here?"
I was stunned "To see outside of the Fairyworld?"
Charlie nodded "Margo here is a full fledge Witch very powerful and her husband is an Alchemist."
My eyes grew wide at the couple they just smiled and ate.
Charlie laughed and looked at Margo who was wiping of syrup from Iris's mouth.

Margo laughed "Well, now be opened minded Sage here our oldest is a Vampire."
My face turned white "But she is up in the morning..."
Sage laughed "The magic of The Realm protects me from any harm from daylight."
I nodded as I say that only she drank the orange juice "Is that blood?"
Sage nodded "Yeah, but only rabbit, any vampires living in The Realm is banned from eating humans."

Margo interrupted "Yes, Sage here was given to us after being left behind, by a rouge vampire hunting party."
Marcus piped up "I am just as bad, I'm a Leprechaun."
I laughed "Aren't Leprechauns, suppose to be small and red headed?"
Marcus looked at me " Aren't Fairies suppose to be the size of thumbnails, instead of five foot- five like you?'
I gulped and laughed "Touché."

I looked at Iris  "What are you?"
she smiled "A witch!"
Margo smiled "Yes while Marcus became ours after humans almost found him. Iris here Is a special case."
I looked at her "A special case?"
Margo sighed "Iris, is born of a highly powerful warlock and witch, who were cast out from here."
Iris smiled "But Mom says I wont have to worry about that, She will teach me how to control my power."

I looked at Charlie and she spoke
" You see, as a Realm Fairy means honoring and protecting not only our own kind, but all of the creatures of The Realm big or small."
I smiled , I saw this odd family; yet I felt like I was apart of it and wanted to do anything to protect it.

I really like the family in this chapter. They are cute, and the fact that they are all different creatures is fascinating. This sounds like the makings of a very interesting story. I have a few suggestions - first off, checking the grammar - it's the thing that gets us all. :) Also, I would slow down in terms of revealing the details of the settings and characters. Some things didn't seem to be explained enough, like when things started "flying around" in the kitchen (maybe add a few examples, like "a spoon came careening from a nearby drawer" or something like that), while the characters' appearances were given in so much detail that it interrupted the narrative flow of the story. It's ok to list traits a little bit, but try to weave the others into the action. For example, you could say, "A tall girl in blue jeans and a baggy pink sweatshirt clomped down the stairs, flipping her waist-length brown hair over her shoulder as she went." That helps keep the action going. Just suggestions, so pick and choose as you wish. :) Overall, nice work!
