Bim Bam CrashA Poem by Palmerd3A poem with a focus on the sounds of words rather than their meaningsThe bounce of the battered basketball reverberates off the concrete court. Air hissing out its pressure hole from the strain of dribbling. The metal pole shakes from a slam dunk: cheering spectators. Free throws, rebounds, jump shots; the backboard replies with a bim. Teammates running in order to steal possession from their opponents. An outstretched hand: ball stolen with a slap and a bam. Windshield shattering with a crash as the ball shoots through. There goes a few month’s allowance: gone as quickly as my “friends.” © 2014 Palmerd3 |
