Bim Bam Crash

Bim Bam Crash

A Poem by Palmerd3
"

A poem with a focus on the sounds of words rather than their meanings

"

The bounce

of the battered basketball

reverberates off

the concrete court.

Air hissing out

its pressure hole

from the strain

of dribbling.

The metal pole shakes

from a slam dunk:

cheering spectators.

Free throws,

rebounds,

jump shots;

the backboard replies

with a bim.

Teammates running

in order to steal

possession

from their opponents.

An outstretched hand:

ball stolen

with a slap

and a bam.

Windshield shattering

with a crash

as the ball

shoots through.

There goes a few

month’s allowance:

gone as quickly as

my “friends.”
