Transition

Transition

A Poem by Audrey Wynters
"

A poem about someone who is dying and their transition from the world of the living to the after world. It's not a nice view.

"

My eyes open up to a daydream
The water and rock sing a song
Fire and ice dance with each other
Mist birthed of the two drifts along

Voices rise up through the stillness
The metallic echo of rust and decay
A ghost in this unending nightmare
I give my last breath to the day

White mist floats over my body
Black thoughts creep in to my mind
Red water licks at my fingers
The three all make one of a kind

In dreams I am walking to meet you
In dreams I am walking alone
Hollow minds make pictures to play with
A figure walks hopelessly on

This is very mesmerizing it pulled me along with your thoughts and into your dreams. I feel very privileged that the first poem I read today is one of caliber. Usually I tend to shift through many before landing on a gem, so thanks for the pleasure.

I love to read and write and have been actively doing both since I was a little girl. I dream of the day I might see my writing in print so I can turn to someone and say "I wrote that". I love the.. more..
