My Childhood

My Childhood

A Poem by ClaraOswald
"

Extempore poem written on the occasion of Children's day

"
Oh! How I love
my old young days

I would stay home
and cry and play

But now it’s kinda
serious for me

I would love to do
lots of tantrums you see

If there was a genie,
I would ask for wishes three

Just I hope that
he would give me

I would ask him to
take me to the movie

The next is to make
me as a child

Then my work could
be a lot mild

Then I would ask him
to show me my good old days

I would then wish to go
back to my old ways

When my holidays
are near

Hip Hip Hooray is
what I hear

The ice-cream parlor is
next where I would go

I would go to the river and
hire a boat and row

It would be very
fun I Say

But that wouldn’t
happen anyway

But I always feel
being an adult

You would have to
make your own meal

I would also love to
go to the amusement park

But not when it’s
really very dark

I would pamper my Father and
ask cake from my Mother

But I never care and
I would never play fare

I would love to be a
child for the whole time

And for that,
I would pay a dime

I would enjoy my
days a lot you see

I would also never want
to be busy as a bee
