Take in the Sights

Take in the Sights

A Poem by Superwatchman55

Off onto the Tube once more,

That grinding, monotonous machine,

Subject of much abhor.

A long journey lies ahead.

That grinding, monotonous machine,

Slowly lurching onward,

A long journey lies ahead.

Take in the sights.

Slowly lurching onward,

The dark tunnels, pitch black, never-ending.

Take in the sights.

Eyes start to glaze over.

The dark tunnels, pitch black, never-ending.

The dull, low roar of the gathering crowd.

Eyes start to glaze over,

After a brief interlude to pick up more passengers.

The dull, low roar of the gathering crowd,

A diverse sea of faces.

After a brief interlude to pick up more passengers,

A mechanical groan pierces the air.

A diverse sea of faces,

The machine strains under the weight,

A mechanical groan pierces the air

As it surges forward.

The machine strains under the weight.

Off onto the Tube once more,

As it surges forward

Subject of much abhor.
