Say Goodnight

A little poem i wrote. Let me know what you think.

Goodnight to my daddy
He hugs me the best
He knows how to fix things
And wears a black suit
I always miss him
When he goes to work
He stumbles home stinking
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to my brother
He can be mean to me
But when he is happy
I love him so much
He tells me it’s okay
When him and mommy fight
They finally stopped screaming
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to his girlfriend
She’s nicer than him
Her hair is like gold
I think he wears her makeup
She asks me weird questions
She leaves out of nowhere
Now she’s at her house
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to my teacher
She’s smarter than anyone
Her skirts are long and ugly
She looks at me strange
When I walk into class
I’ve also seen her crying
I bet she lives at the school
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to my best friend
He likes to watch TV
I like when he’s over
Because then everything’s fine
His mommy always asks me
If I want to sleep over
She must like me a lot
So I say goodnight

 

Goodnight to the man
Who comes over sometimes
He loves to wear blue
He gave them a warning
I met him that night
When he told me to call him
If it wasn’t alright
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to my mommy
She tells me she loves me
She says she knows how
To punish children right
I don’t really like
The things that she does
But she tells me I’ll die
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to my sister
Who just went away
She shouldn’t have done that
I hope she comes home
I told Mommy I’m telling
She said I was next
I hope Sister sleeps good
So I say goodnight

Goodnight to myself
I tell Jesus I love him
While Mommy points her gun
She says I can’t keep
The secret of what happened
And I’ll see Sister soon
So I say goodnight
And she says goodbye
