Pavement JourneysA Poem by Kayla K"If you don't get lost, there's a chance you may never be found." ~ Unknown
"A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it." ~ George Moore "Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering." ~St. Augustine "Funny when you're dead how people start listening." ~ If I Die Young by The Band Perry ~*~ Pavement journeys, sidewalk pansies. Airplane terminals, leather bound journals. Small town suffocation, if I keep staying here, my own grave is chosen. Complexity dreams, crushed and killed. At destroying hope, they're quite skilled. Stretching pavements, so simple to walk. Escaping this place, and breaking the lock. Sidewalks below, leading the way. Experiencing my runaway ballet. Flower buddings, peeking through. Coming to wave, and bid me adieu. Airplane terminals, full of people fine. My airline ticket, I finally decline. Journal entries, fulled with memories, take me back, to the place of my stories. Retracing the sidewalk, the flowers welcome back. Pavements still recall, my converse clad attack. Though dreams may suffocate, they still run free. Leaving here might not be, but it was a finding me journey. Railroad track noises, heard in the distant. I'll hold my breath, and wait here patient. © 2011 Kayla KAuthor's Note
