Magic Findings

Magic Findings

A Poem by Kayla K

She says she remembers another thing about when she was young - she remembers when the world was full of wonder - when life was a strand of magic moments strung together, a succession of mysteries revealed, leaving her feeling as if she was in a trance. She remembers back when all  it took to make her feel like she was part of the stars was to simply talk about things like death and life and the universe. She doesn't know how to reclaim that sense of magic anymore." ~ Douglous Coupland.

"You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future." ~ Unknown

"Time goes, you say? Ah, no! Alas, time stays, we go." ~ Henry Austin Dobson

"Time is making fools of us again." ~ J.K. Rowling

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.
- John Wooden

"Growing up is never easy. You hold on to things that were. You wonder what's to come." - The Wonder Years television show

Shooting star wisher,

give me your hand.
Sit upon moonlight,
watching time's sand.

Magical remedy,
creature monstrosity.
Children curiosity,
reality ferocity.

Little girl lovely,
innocently happy.
Heart powerful,
blue eyes misty.

Hometown hero,
living her dream.
Reaching up high,
going the extreme.

Dragons and pixie dust,
fresh in her mind.
But time will leave,
little girl behind.

Shooting star wisher,
give me your hand.
Sit upon moonlight,
watching time's stand.

Becoming a woman,
putting on a show.
Faking the smile,
past words echo.

Giving out her heart,
becoming crushed.
Harsh reality caused,
a childhood rushed.
Peer pressure, drama,
your typical enigma.

Still wearing that smile,
she's slipping away.
Things aren't okay,
even if "I'm fine"
is what she'll say.

Shooting star wisher,
give me your hand.
Sit upon moonlight,
watching time's sand.

Smiles are far away gone,
replaced with razor kiss,
the only sense of relief,
for deep depression bliss.

Hiding the scars carefully,
covering criss-cross scars.
Lost in midnight darkness,
hidden are sparkling stars.

Long sleeves to cover cuts,
little lies to hide the truth.
Ignoring so-called friends,
this is one broken youth.

Shooting star wisher,
give me your hand.
Sit upon moonlight,
watching time's sand.

Pen's ink discovered,
a new pain release.
Feeling relief,
as depression decrease.

Bleeding through black,
onto paper lines.
Heart-spoken words,
disease soon declines.

Disposing the liars,
and finding the friends.
Still she has learned,
to not be surprised,
if ever this ends.

Acceptance of reality,
still lost in fantasy.
Dreams and truth combine,
helping the lover,
to help others find the sign.

Shooting star wisher,
the time changed you well.
You've been right to hell,
then turned around.
With inkblots of twinkle,
you've become found.

So wish now, survivor,
remember the past.
Cherish memories,
they'll be over fast.

Live in the magic,
of fairy tale lore.
You'll find yourself,
deep in your core.

Cure yourself fully,
with magic inside.
Inside yourself,
a dragon hides.
Discover the world,
the reality and true.
With help from the loving,
we'll make it through.

Shooting star wisher,
give me your hand.
Return now yourself,
to magical land.

Magic findings,
deep within.
Written pasts,
erasing all sin.

Chase the dust,
of magic love.
Soaring up high,
like purity dove.

Shooting star wisher,
give me your hand.
Sit upon moonlight,
watching time's sand.

Kayla K
I'd been talking to someone lately, and I just needed to write something, anything, about growing up and losing the sense of magic we all used to have.

I really really liked this, I don't think we ever loose our magic but it just some times vanishes until we finish a trial in our life, and this sort of put that into words. Very nice XX

We dont lose our magic, it changes and we think we lost it when we we have actually forgotten it.
