Light Chasers

Light Chasers

A Poem by Kayla K

Stuck in the dark,

stuck in a rut.
Suicidal teens,
casting death ballot.

Cowering against the wall,
so afraid to even fall.
Lost in endless nightmares,
as mental disease ensnares.

Tied in chains and binds,
the prison of your mind.
Waiting for the day,
when planets are aligned.

Waiting endlessly
for the light to come.
But to escape the dark,
you must first blossom.

Get up of the floor.
Crawl, if you need,
then start to walk.
Forgot about speed.

Can't you hear the music?
It's all playing for us.
Our hands reaching out,
jump upon the safety bus.
Learn how to dance,
to melodic tunes.
Time to come out
of your safety cocoons.

Light chasers running,
spreading the hope.
Handing the lost
a strong safety rope.

Glitter colors,
rainbow answers.
Sparkle dreamers,
simplicity runners.

Suicide saviors,
whisper to the lost.
Holding our hands,
in times of exhaust.

Lurking in the dark,
light chasers stand,
reaching out a hand,
pulling us inland.

Laconic light chasers,
mysterious creatures.
Shooting across the sky,
as star dust flyers.

I think this is one of my favorites. I really just... Wow. I don't know what to say.

About
I'm a cyclone of myself, a caterpillar delight still finding my wings. A balloon stuck up in the clouds, no one can bring me down from my high. Shattered into pieces, be careful when you pick .. more..
