Music Box Melodies

A Poem by Kayla K

Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music. ~ Sergei Rachmaninov

To stop the flow of music would be like the stopping of time itself, incredible and inconceivable. ~Aaron Copland

Music is the art of thinking with sounds. ~ Jules Combarieu

I have told many people that I would be dead if it wasn't for music. Most give me a strange look, but I don't mind. To some, music is just something to play at parties, or while driving in their cars. Then there's others, people like me, who find music to be everything. Some music today is only created for money. It's created for the teenagers of my generation to buy and play at parties. This kind of music has no meaning. It could be written by practically anyone. And then there's other music. Music with meaning, with a message. Music that can bring tears to your eyes. That music is what is beautiful, and that music is what can save people. I have always appreciated music. My favorite part of church as a kid was always listening to the choir. And I can recall a music box that my grandmother owned, and I used to play with it for hours, wondering how something so simple could make something so amazing. For every moment out there, good or bad, there is a song. If you are old or young, broken or whole, lost or hopeful, there is a song for you to listen to. Go find that song. Once you find that song, never let it go. Music can become an addiction, but it is an addiction with no harm. Music will sometimes make you cry, but it's a good cry. It makes me sad to know I will never hear every song in the world, but I will try to hear as many as I can. ~ SupernovaSavior

Music box melodies,

lyrical remedies.

Simple songs save me,

from depression frenzy.

~*~

iPod insomniac.

Heroin headphones.

Simplicity tunes,

of intermingled tones

~*~

Piano encore,

acoustic solo.

Upon a crescendo,

children can soar.

~*~

Lost in a world,

of voice and sound

Here your heart waits,

waits to be found

~*~

Scream to the sky

Your hearts bleeding now.

An emotional performance,

and you may take the bow.

~*~

Lose yourself in music,

land made for the manic.

Home for broken warriors.

Discover here your answer

I want you to know that your words hold every bit of meaning as mine do, you always compliment me and now I hope to return the favor. Understand this, when someone reads your rhymes they are truly saved, their heart is beating because you reached them in that moment, you are for real that supernova savior. You are at a young age in number but well wise beyond your years and from reading your poems and speaking to you I would never have guessed it, I would've much higher since you are more mature than most anyone I've ever met. Don't fear your emotions as you see them come out on the paper, rejoice. You are healing, you are dancing in the ashes, and you are singing lovely. Thank you for being such a saving grace. With you looking out to protect us from when life gets crazy bad, we do have a fighting chance of standing strong united. Don't ever give up or think or return to that dark place you were once at, you have so much good going for your, it's amazing to be allowed to see it with my own eyes. You're a beautiful person and your heart is the lullaby to be envied. Keep on searching through your memories to pick what you can from them and bring them to these messages, it's more helpful to all of us than you might realize.

This poem captures the emotions running through me when I listen to my favorite songs. It's nice to know that there really are people like me who find a saving grace within lyrics. People will stab you in the back and hurt you, but music will always be there to make you feel better. As a music lover, thank you. I too find myself crying when I hear lyrics that are created from the heart and soul of the artist. Music has the ability to captivate and foster souls. I think when I look back on life, I'll remember how music is my best friend. Love it :)

I love this. It was beautifully written and I am also a huge fan of music. My favorite song ever is A Few Small Bruises by Maria Mena.
