A poem I wrote after thinking about the title all night.. I have been thinking about my MOM that was a Writer, and not knowing if anything that she wrote was published.. other than in Magazines..

The Reluctant Corpse.. or  Live and not Die…

 

I looked and saw all the things I had left to do..

And I was reluctant to say it was time to go

I hadn’t sung my song

I hadn’t published my book

I hadn’t sold my Art

I hadn’t done the things I promised myself I would do

But here it was before me..

 

Would I go or would I stay

As my family and friends looked on..

And saying it is too bad she didn’t do the things that she

Said she was going to do

 

She wanted to write books

She wanted to do her Art

She wanted to sing her Song

It is too bad .. She had so much Potential.. So many God-Given

Gifts..

 

Then I heard myself in a Conversation with God…

If you want me to come HOME.. I am READY

But if you have more WORK for me to Do

I am willing to STAY

 

Then I woke up.. It was only a DREAM

 

Now I have a Choice..

For there are Books to Write..

There are Paintings to Paint..

And there is a Song in my Heart that needs to be Sung…

 

This is not a Negative Poem, but a Question to you… What have

You been waiting to do…. HE has been waiting for you..

It has been said that the Graveyard is the Wealthiest Place on Earth

Let’s not be one that adds to that wealth, but add our Wealth to the

LIVING..  Margene/Sunwhisp
