"My" Mad World

"My" Mad World

A Poem by Ignorance Was Bliss Everything Was Free

I sit, then I get up.
They're leaving me. Again.
It's quiet like death.
I'm lonely. It sinks in.

It's cold in here.
I'm alone. Without them.
In my head it's empty.
White noise. No end.

I sink. I don't swim.
Into a red chair.
Where did it come from?
This room's a silent prayer.

I remember this place.
It's good to hear you all.
My only friends. My only.
In this room silence calls.

They give me advice.
I've taken it more than twice.
This time they say it'll work.
I do so and close my eyes.

Author's Note

Ignorance Was Bliss Everything Was Free
Sometimes.. these voices. My friends. My all. They bring peace. I feel ready to let go again.
