Never Enough

Never Enough

A Poem by Sunshine Kid

Sometimes
Words aren’t ever
Enough.
If you were
To be someone
I love
I could hug you
And say more
Than these little words
Ever
Could.
If you were
To be someone
I hate
I could slap you
Across the face
Repeatedly
Until it’s red
And that could be
More
And could
Show more
Than this could.
But I hate her.
I hate someone
I don’t even know.
No name.
No background.
No possibility
Of knowing
And yet I hate.
But, no
I’m a hypocrite
Since I say
I hate no one
And preach
Love
As if I were
Some sort of
Expert.
So I’m a
Crazy
Hypocrite
But I don’t
Truly hate her
I promise.
So
Now I’m just crazy
Which is fine
I just ramble
And carry on
Hoping this could go
Somewhere
Anywhere.
Emotionally drained
This isn’t even
Real anymore
Looking at life
Through cellophane
Wrapped around my
Head
Meaning to obstruct
But also
Strangle
Because you can’t
Do one
Without
The other.
This will never
Be enough.
I hope I can
Though
Maybe
Eventually
I will.
Stupid words.
You don’t mean a thing
But you’re my
Friends
(Great
I’m friends
With the English
Language)
So I love you
And love
To use you
Since that’s actually
What you’re for
Anyway.
Funny how
That works.
