EVEN BUTTERFLIES LET GOA Poem by DreamerOne day I walked by a flower garden, A kaleidoscope of butterflies arose. Red mixed with yellow, Some were golden, some were blue.
Gay feelings, for a while, had been strange to feel, And then I saw a caterpillar on a tree. The day it all became clear to me.
Even butterflies must let go
The dream weaver taking hold of me Climbed into my head, Creating dreams of fallacy. Yet, I crawled out of my mind Just in time To save myself.
This realization, This dawning, I know now
Even butterflies need to let go
Eyes burn red So emotions fool mind into believing something else. Making from nothing- A promise of nothing, False sense of contentment
But even the sky lets go of the rain, To cry life down the flower beds, Of the garden from which the knowledge came to me that Sometimes the only option we have is to leave.
To live We must release So we can inhale Dream weaver come reclaim your hindering dreams. -Maybe one day your premonition may come to be. But for now your lack of certainty I see as only a lack of garantee.
Winged creature lands on my hand. Lifts off as I relinquish my thoughts of you. Watching it glide throught the sky I breathe to it a word of goodbye
"Mariposa, you taught me to walk away- if I ever wish to live again..."
