Coming into the light!

I was inspired by some poets on this site to try writing a short poem but still getting the point across...

My heart is in hidding

I'll force it into light

If you know you'll never love me

Don't let me put up this fight

It is so short, just a couplet, but thought provoking with a deeper meaning.

You've accomplished your feat to say a lot with few words. This is great. What I get from it: Someone is careful with their heart; they protect it from getting broken by not giving it away. This someone is willing to give love a chance, but they still have that fear, so their question is really, will this be worth it in the end... I think we've all faced these emotions. Brilliantly written.
