You should listen

You should listen

A Poem by Dreamer

So many thoughts

Words are a never ending flow

Of passion running through my mind

Urging to burst out

The page remains white

You take my openness

As a shallow pond-

Gasping for breath because of underestimation

So I will wade alone, writing letters to the trees

The page remains white

I am nothing more than a canvas

Waiting just for a moment of regard

The silence has never been so loud before- perhaps you cannot hear

And I would write to you instead, still

The page remains white

The pen is red

The finger tips are red

The core… the most vivid eddy of violet and grey

If you would rather, you may open a window

The colours of life streaming in and out in your place

Dear Dreamer

As promised. I have picked this piece to review.

It can appeal to any writer, indeed any artist (canvas as you suggest), lyricist, playwright, musician - the creative as a group.

Either absence of ideas or so many they jostle position or perhaps worst, knowing what you want to say, but feeling unable to express it.

Albeit different in tone and message, you might like to read for pleasure only (no review required - this is definitely not a read request) my little piece 'Understanding' on here, which brushes at the point you make.

Words are our passion as writers, but their lack our greatest frustration.

Well expressed

With my thanks and kindest regards

James

I love this poem, the use of words is amazing, the depth to them, the breadth, it just stuns me a bit. I haven;t checked in on this site for a very long time, and after being stuck in my own little world and my own writings, seeing someone else's work is like a wake up call.
Fantastic piece in my opinion.
As for writers block, I've come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as that, just moments of inspiration when the words allow you to use them, either that or I've been having a loooong block (split up by the odd day or two of inspiration every now and then)
Again, love this piece, going in my favorites.

Simply my take on 'writers block' knowing that you have so much to say but nothing seems to come onto the page

Hardest thing to learn. Is to listen. I like the flow of thoughts and the positive ending to the poem. A writer must listen to their heart and mind to release words to the sheet of paper. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
