Accepting the TruthA Poem by SunnyBreakzWROTE THIS AT NIGHT
We loathe the truth.
It causes us affliction To hear what is genuine In others’ diction. Wars and sorrow and the cries of men, The same thing occurs over and over again. When will we learn That enough is enough? And to not harm our neighbors, By trying to bluff. Enough is enough, Just accept the truth. We are blood-thirsty, ruthless, sinful, and truthless. We break others down to build ourselves higher. We don’t care if we set the world on fire. We’ve caused so much destruction. That we didn’t know was done. We think we have friends. But we have none. Because we denied accepting the truth. We thought we were flawless. We have turned insane and become lawless. Wars broke out and people yearn, Just because we couldn’t learn. Accept the truth. Though it is hard. It will help you in life. You will end up scarred. From all the people that do not understand That you sacrificed your pride to save this land. But scars are not a bad thing. They hold memories and tales. And all of the things that you’ve accomplished, Including your fails. I wish to accept the truth that I am not God. I can’t move mountains. Or walk on water. Or turn a snake into a rod. But if I accept the truth, Will the wars finally end? Will death, melancholy, anxiety, harm, loneliness, and blasphemy perish? Will there be no more broken hearts to mend? No. It takes more than one. Nothing around us can be undone But we are in control of the present. We can’t change the past. This doesn’t have to last. Just grab my hand. Hold on tight. And follow me into the light. © 2022 SunnyBreakzAuthor's Note
