At Home, Asleep

At Home, Asleep

A Poem by Sunny
"

I love to sleep

"

12/09

Warm surrounding fog

Drowsy mist

Mounds of silky, crumpled blankets

Piles of cool, overstuffed pillows

Stretching and straying

Idle trails

Cuddling against

Smooth skin

Soft awareness

Blurred at the edges

Ideas flit by

Dreams are fickle

Sweet tastes

Kiss the brain

Goose bumps

Melting into fabric

The indent of your body

The smell of the night’s release

Cool summer

Warm winter

Drifting in that space

Hanging between the moments

Of wake and slumber

Peace and chaos

Warm tickles

Running through your spine

It kisses the brain

It’s all in a good night’s sleep
