Before AdolescenceA Poem by SunneA poem that I wrote as an ode to my childhood, it has tinges of longing and is a little sad.I miss the left-over – Laments of hope and a knowingness of no limits where one could assume even the leopards spots and wear some wings for good measure. And I miss my baby sister. And the stability of parks. And the fortifications in- “Barbecued Chicken” with salt drenched lips, and being draped in the warmth of sleep, among worn down muscles. I miss the safety nets. And the daydreams left open for translations into reality and the steady Hands which would pick me up at the slightest hint of my falling. © 2008 Sunne |
