Sandpaper Kisses, Sinful wishesA Poem by DestinyAnother manifestation of one of my many obsessions...
I didn't invite you here
But it's clear you aren't leaving So I might as well offer you a drink I don't know what to think about you Which is ironic since I can't get you off my mind But I'm somewhere between scared shitless and awestruck with a hint of Oh My God! You are such delicious poison Poised, poignant, and perfect in all the wrong ways I could spend days quivering from the power of your gaze And I have The last couple of days to be exact A fact I'm not proud of Love would be too strong a word And I'd rather save that for someone who cares But you're always there in my memory Just past the brush of yearning fingertips and parted lips And glassy eyes It's no surprise you won't leave I can't let go of that night long past and those never to be Especially on days like this When I miss something that doesn't exist Sandpaper kisses, sinful wishes And arms that hold me strong as larch But what do you expect? It's March... © 2010 DestinyAuthor's Note
