Short and powerful, you need to shout it aloud and see how "the man" takes it. Just kidding. Not the man, everyone that bleeds the earth. You can feel the pain she feels, and how she can only take it. She is our mother though, so in our hearts maybe all we should do is take and take and take. Like our own mothers, they are here to care for us, sometimes though they become so frail from just how much of it we take without giving nourishment and love in return.

It is invocative. We take and take from our home, and we call it our earth, but its not really ours at all is it. Then we something goes awry, we seem dumbfounded, and are quick to blame our predecessors.
