Chocolate Syrup and Rainbow Jimmies

Chocolate Syrup and Rainbow Jimmies

A Poem by Destiny

Your lips are where butterflies come to die

and in your eyes my image reflects beautifully on your existence

Take my hand and start talking

I'll go walking bare foot with you through the maze of suburbia

over the rainbow, and back to my backyard barbecue

Your tofu is to me as my collard greens are to you

but it's ok

because we both like rice

It's nice to have a safe box for your heart

water resistant, fireproof, and completely inescapable from the inside out

Shh stop crying, you're trapped here forever with me.

We belong together, you see.

And besides

these walls are sound proof

no one can hear you screaming

in agonizing pain

intolerable frustration

or  complete ecstasy

I remember the night your pants caught on fire.

They ignited the sheets and the insuppressible flame nearly consumed us, despite your best efforts.

Your father put out the fire just in time.

it burned my tongue to speak up

but the words pushed passed my lips in a last effort to cut you into something I could posses.

ricocheting shards shred my lies

my flesh

and my heart

leaving you without a scratch.

F*****g ninja

I think that's all we ever needed you and me

to reopen the wounds we won't acknowledge

but the knowledge that there is one other helps us sleep

We are an entity

Secret Asian Man and The Whip of Destiny

passing top secret messages written in code in broad day light.

Bad-a*s right?

I'll burn those letters in effigy

The part of me I hate will wither away and what's left will be...

bearable.

I'll be able to look myself straight in the eye

and confront my impartial dreams without shame

It's ashame that from birth I could never truly have you, the show's about to begin

and I bet God's just put in a bag of popcorn

Every moment with you I hear "I told you so"

but won't let you go

I can't now.

even if I tried

in your own words "I really can't"

taken out of context of course but true non the less

and even if we put them back

I couldn't silence the sound of a soul loosing control of his defenses

He built them for me so why would I want to?

It's the sound of a choir of angel's voices rising and falling in harmony with an enchanted harp played by Gabriel.

Maybe this is my reward.

Maybe you are my heaven.

Next time you can play the harp, my beautiful angel, and I'll sing for you

"I love you, sounds so true. The words alone are music to my ears. Sing with me in harmony, and I love will bring your heart to tears"

This poem is so different for you thus I think makes it perfect as it brings togehter two differnent people and you find the common ground that they both have. Excellent work intertwining them together with our poetic flow.. :)
