Let Me Drown

Let Me Drown

A Poem by Jimmy Deadman
"

Capitalism's got me down.

"
I'm not too fond of money but I like the things it buys
There is nothing in this world I think I could die for
Is it wrong? Should I be locked up with the murderers and junkies
Well, I don't know but that's exactly what it feels like

I sit down, I'm feeling nauseous and my eyelids are too heavy
Vision's blurred, I start to sweat and my breathing is unsteady
Could I die right now and be happy with the life I've barely lived
I don't know but that's exactly what it feels like

Say goodbye to me now
Something I've been saying is so far from the truth
I'm alright with me now
I'm saving my sobriety for another time

Can you hit me, I can't do it with this buzzing in my head
From the mountains made of powder where we've buried all our dead
Cross my heart, do I hope to die with a needle in my
I don't know but that's exactly what it feels like

I never want to stop this feeling warming up my face
This song may sound lime sorrow, broken lives, unwanted change
Is it wrong to layer up to stay warm when the sun goes down
When the water leaves your lungs, you're still alive although you've drown

beautifully, truthfully written quatrains, I honestly liked it, as much as i liked your writing style.
