THE ROBE

THE ROBE

A Poem by June Fowler
"

iTS BASED ON HOW JESUS MIGHT HAVE FELT WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED HIM. TRY PUTTING UR SELF IN HIS PLACE COULD U FACE ALL THAT? WELL, JESUS DID IT FOR US C!

"
                        THE ROBE
The prophecy of old has come true.

They undress Him, they shredded Him!
They lashed Him, they stripped Him!
They abused Him and spat on Him!
They falsely blamed Him for things He had not done!
They blind-folded Him, struck Him and blasphemously spoke against Him!
Then they dragged Him through the lanes of Jerusalem,
Caring that heavy cross to the Mount of Calvary!
Where they pushed him down by force and spread Him  like a bird in flight!
Holding His hands palm upwards, driving the long iron nails with every strike of the heavy hammer!
Driving the nail into His sore , torn fleshed feet, Shattering the bones of His feet!
As He withered with pain they laughed with glee,
And mocked Him afresh challenging Him,
To prove what the Jews had said,
"Hail! King of the Jews!', If U are God, prove it by saving yourself!"
They gave Him bitter wine with vinegar to quench His thirst!
As the sky grew dark, and it began to pour,
Some believed and some did not,
- But the prophecy was fulfilled,
"They cast lots for my robe and divided  my garments among themselves !"

Amen!

Author's Note

June Fowler
Hope u understand what Jesus did for us! He bore our shame and took our punishment upon Himself so that U and I did not have to go through the shame and the pain which was rightfully our punishment for our miss-deeds and evil lives, our lies and our tarnished human nature.
