To Papa With Love

To Papa With Love

A Poem by June Fowler
"

This is a poem which I wrote for my Dad just to thank him for being there for me always. Thanking him for encouraging me to put my thoughts in black and white.Thanking God I still have my dad with me.

"
                      To Papa With Love.
I need to take one step at a time
Lest what is good around me
Gets into my head.
Who am I, what am I?
Without you Papa, I'm just not me.

At every step, I have looked up to you.
Ive made many mistakes,
Coz I did what I wanted to do .
For every mistake I made,
Turning to you Papa, was not my game.
With passing time I had somehow grown.

I knew what was right and what was wrong.
I know I was responsible all along
For all my doings and actions,
For all that I spoke and thought;
Still, somewhere deep inside me
Was that little child who needed you all along.

When all alone and had done wrong
Would reach out a hand
To hold your hand so strong.
To be reassured that all was fine.
If I made mistakes, I could still go on,
Coz somewhere, in the spirit you were always there
Close by to tell me to strive again.

So, once again I would rise
Walk the mile of a new life,
Turning and changing with time.
This time for God's work to thrive;
So, I began to write.
Without your help oh Papa dear,
I would not have been able to fight my fears,
Fears of being unknown!
I am responsible for what I am today.
Strong, dependable, truthful, hardworking, humble, happy and gay;
Im the same to every one, my friends and foes alike.

Still without u Papa dear,
I would not be what I am today.
Coz, without your blessings Papa dear,
I could never be what I am.
I would never have learnt these lessons of life.

The greatest thing of God I ask
Wisdom please to me impart,
So I can chose the right from wrong,
Without being blinded by this worldly charm.

Grant me God a boon to night,
Health and blessings of all kinds,
But the greatest one will always be
My Papa dear by my side.

A beautiful and positive poem for your father and life. I like the story told and life learned in the poem. I believe our parent and grandparent become part of us. I hear my Grandfather voice when I speak today. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry for your dear father. He would be honored by your words.
