The Blessed Hem

The Blessed Hem

A Poem by June Fowler
"

Its a poem about the healing power of Jesus!

"
                    The Blessed Hem
Let me touch the hem of your garment Lord!
I need your healing touch.
Every one stays your are a healer Lord,
Please heal me too today!
I have heard so many talk,
About the miracles done by You,
As I bend down and touch you Lord,
Let a miracle happen in me too!
Let the pain leave my sides,
Let my blind eyes see again.
Strengthen my limbs Lord
That I may work again.
Let those who suffer from abuses of yesterday,
Oh Lord! may they be made whole today.
May they too touch the hem of you garment,
And be released from all their pain.
Dont ask Lord who touched you!
For there are many around,
Every one needs your healing touch,
So, you they surround!
Oh Lord! fearfully I accept
The action that was done,
I had made that move today
To touch Thy garments' hem.
Thank you Lord for healing me!
For accepting me just as I am.
Thank you Lord for loving me,
And renewing my strength!

This poem reminded me an incident from sikh history When sixth sikh guru Guru Hargonind saheb, was put into jail ( Gwalior fort) by Mughal king Aurangjeb, many other hindu kings were also imprisoned there, When Aurngjeb realised his mistake of putting a Pious soul in jail, he ordered to Free Guru ji at once, but guru ji refused to go out without all the kings,
This was impossible for Aurngjeb, so he cleverly said, those kings who can hold the hem of guru ji s coat can go with them,
And guru ji than wore a dress with 52 hems and freed all the 52 kings out of jail,
A very nice read, nice work
Thankyou
