A bit of Van Gogh

A bit of Van Gogh

A Poem by Sunil Sharma
"

About art and life

"

A bit of Van Gogh

He lives,

The great Van Gogh,

In

Every artist,

Big/small,

Successful/ failure,

Celeb/obscure,

Remembered/ forgotten,

Lionised/demonised,

Re-discovered/ Erased forever,

This residual Van Gogh,

A bit of him only,

That lingers in the

Soul sensitive,

That makes,

The lingering Gogh,

Rebel against the conventions,

Poverty,

Bad reception,

Anonymity,

Insanity,

Of different sort,

By searching,

Loving,

Painting,

Vibrant colours,

The rivers and the stars,

And talking to his

Loving

Brother Leo,

His only lodestar,

And

To cypresses and

Sunflowers;

The Dutch

Shows the way

To others,

Of a different age,

Not to give up

But find refuge in art,

As every age has got

A new Vincent van Gogh.
