The void

The void

A Poem by Sunil Sharma
"

Inner void; aching pain; silent public spaces; absences earthly and divine; an Indian scne

"

The void

After your

Quick

Departure,

The insides

Looked like the

Public spaces

That glittered

During Ram Lila,

Navratri,

But---

Once the visiting gods

Left for their heavenly abode,

The same neon-lit places

Became barren,

Sad, and overwhelmingly

Desolate.
