StaticA Poem by UnapologeticPoetOne of my favorite writings this is my take on anxiety and the everyday struggles that some have to face while living with this issue.Everyday struggles of nothing but mindless noise Fussing around inside your head An old friend, the one you’d rather be dead. Familiar shaking of hands and rattling of memory. That sudden feeling of breathless lungs gasping, searching for air that they will not find For your friend who has been lost, has come back home. Consuming everything in a soft white noise Static, Memories fade into the black abyss that is now the back of your mind, Brought forward are all the things you should hate about yourself, all the things you need to get done, all the people you are letting down, how useless you’ve become. “You thought I would let you go that easy?” It seems to whisper inside of your head. And for a moment you think maybe it won’t overwhelm you and will pass as fast as it came. You are wrong, the static continues turning into a screeching sound Twisted mixtures of nothingness and everything all at once. Static Swiftly it overcomes you. You are rendered helpless forced to wait it out See if time can pass you by. It does not care if you are sitting at home, or in a crowded hall A full audience or a single soul gazing from a mirror The show must go on and oh will it be a performance. © 2016 UnapologeticPoetAuthor's Note
