Hidden

Hidden

A Poem by Kristen Angelic
"

Another poem about the fight people take on with drugs

"
It's a place where love cannot exist
Where dreams do not prosper
A world of destruction and chaos like a battlefield consuming all that crosses it's path
Like a hungry beast that stalks it's prey
Before pouncing and brutally ravaging innocence and anything pure
Leaving anger and fear
A place where there is no light
Leaving a coward
With no feeling or emotion
No regret or remorse
It is all replaced by numbness
Locked up with a grin that sickens me to my core
Hidden with confidence and attitude that sends shivers down my spine
Disguised as a human being that may fool them.. But can't fool me.
Your disgusting personality
The way you can't spare a moment to look one in the eyes
Afraid to reveal your dark pitiful secrets..
Some secret, if only the world didn't already know
If you even cared what the world thought of you
Such a cowardly statement you make with your bags of ice and blocks of powder
Such a cowardly person you've become
The fire in your eyes is just the chemicals in your veins
The way you force every word as if it were a bullet piercing through ones heart is just the smoke on your breath
Why do you shake?
Is it the chronic?
Why do you sweat? Is it hot in here? Or is it just the ice?
Interesting... Your stammer..
Odd that I've never noticed it till now..
Could that be the smack?
You can't hide from this
You can't run away and expect nobody to ever know it was here..
You can't just bury it and believe it to never be found..
I see you twitch at the sound of his name...
Smack.
Crank.
Chronic.
Speed.
Mud.
Snow.
Coke.
You can't hide it...
You can't hide it.
For things haunt us, love
For things cannot be taken back once said or done
Fear is.. And always will be your enemy.
Trust that he is always there, in all shapes and forms
Trust he will always find you
Trust that no matter how far you turn away, no matter how much you say he is gone
I can always see him, in your eyes..
I can always hear him in your voice
I will always see him in that snarky grin of yours
He will always be a part of you..
He can't be defeated... Only hidden..

About
I've written poetry for most of my life, but I always hid it from other people, because I was afraid to be judged and criticized for the moods, tones, and messages I use in my writing. I have never wr.. more..
