It draws on the idea that it is human nature to present ourselves as better than we are
Forgetting who we really are We try to be different to hide our mental scars. We yearn for more from our pointless little lives, Try to find some moral compass and search for pretty little wives. Forgetting who we really are We try to be big rich rock stars. If we’re all so different why are we all so dumb? For once could we at least be the person in the mirror? We’re all showing sides that have become very unclear. Forgetting who we really are We have left ourselves behind so very far. Selling our souls with desperate flings for happiness, We’re tired of the stink from the gutter pit known as loneliness.
I like the honest and directness of the poem. In the end. Only thing that will matter if we shared love and kindness. Or did nothing. I like the use of the language. You made your point loud and clear,
"Forgetting who we really are
We try to be big rich rock stars.
If we’re all so different why are we all so dumb? "
Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I loved your poem, especially the first stanza and the last line. I'm drawn to the themes of your poems; I feel I'll be reading lots of them, so keep writing!
