raise your glass

raise your glass

A Poem by Deck_As_Heck

Love. You give me a sense of hate.

I’m lost in a sea of thick idolization.

Everything I longed for rested in your smile and eyes.

My love towards you just wasn’t heaven for you.

She took your heart and demolished it.

I was there with the glue and care.

You pushed me away like I was nothing.

I thought you liked me and I knew it was true.

The way I looked at you was the way you looked at me.

Your look turned into a glance and then, was nothing.

How could I be so imprudent, so ignorant?

You were reluctant to anything more than friends.

You disregarded me in every way.

Love. You give me a sense of curiosity.

What makes a man contemptible?

Why so irresistible?

Women like us clandestinely love it.

We just wont admit it.

I understand now that he is not the one.

My heart is breaking slowly.

Eyes and heart open ready to start new.

I cannot forget you.

Nevertheless, it’s time to abandon ship.

Hate. You give me a sense of love.

Raise your glass.

Let us drink to you.
