![]() To the Raging sea, Calmed by the Levee, From the Girl in the WindowA Poem by Sun BearWere I now to see you again, your arms would not be the place I would run to. As much as it hurts to say, it is the truth. Anger, Love, Longing, like I have felt for so long Strong emotions I knew daily during our time together, Would not be risen in me now by the sight of you.
Some years ago, were I asked, my answer would be wholly different. Were I to have seen you then, Crying, Screaming, a hasty Embrace, much like the last we shared Would be easy to find, easy to bring forth, easy to act on. Maybe, had I seen you again then, all could be forgiven.
Now I find myself different, my eyes opened by other events. Opened by others, with Love, Caring, a meticulated Embrace, calculated but not coldly Brought forth freely, with no obligations, no restrictions. Which is how I write now.
Were we to meet again now, you arms would not be the place I would run to. Though in truth I still long to, Love, Passion, Commitment, on both sides Would surely stay my hands, and my lips. If we are to see each other again, I must ask you, Keep walking.
If not for my sake, then yours.
